With the start of school just around the corner (or here), finding some quick super nutritious breakfast options is forefront on many mom’s minds.
Breakfast is so important as a foundation for building a successful learner! Smoothies are a great way to get a lot of nutrition into a convenient, very quick breakfast.
I developed this smoothie while on vacation. I did not have a high powered blender, so I needed things that would effortlessly blend in a basic blender. I also wanted to include as many good foods as I could to nourish my little one’s bodies.
Protein is a key ingredient in a balanced, before school meal. Our brains need protein to focus and regulate our moods. This is especially true in kids with ADD, so a typical breakfast cereal or pop tart is simply not going to cut it!
Banana tip: When I have bananas that get over-ripe, I peel them, break them into pieces, and freeze them for later use in smoothies and baked goods.
