These simple paleo vegan orange cookies celebrate a bright a clean citrus flavor with wholesome ingredients.
As an added bonus, with no eggs, these easy one bowl cookies are perfect for lots of sensitivities!
I remember first stumbling upon my first glimpse of The Healthy Gluten Free Life in a magazine (Living Without?).
It was just being published and I flagged it to pick up my local library when it finally made its way there. After all, here was a cookbook the purported to be healthy as well as gluten, dairy, soy, AND egg free! That was a lot of ‘free’s’ that fit perfectly into this household!
Then a friend mentioned it with rave reviews.
I dug a little further and found all the outstanding reviews on Amazon.
So lacking any patience for something I hoped would be a gold mine, I ordered myself a copy pronto! Had I known I would meet Tammy herself at a local Gluten Free Expo, I would have waited to get it from the author herself! She is local to Oregon to boot, so cool!
I was NOT to be disappointed on the arrival of this cookbook! On first glimpse, the cookbook is large, easy to read, and every single recipe has a beautiful full-color picture. There is a traditional index, but even cooler, a picture index! I have been wanting one of those on my blog for so long, and here it was in a BOOK!
Tammy also has done a great job using much healthier gluten free ingredients with almost all being whole and real foods. No white rice flour here. She loves teff and sorghum, two of my favorites! What I would have given to have had this cookbook in my possession when I first started on this food allergy journey! It is a treasure trove of fabulous dishes and recipes that you AND your family will love for every course of food throughout the day.
Tammy has taken the guess work out of the tricky job on blending GF flours to give you an ideal texture and flavor, and has not sacrificed nutrition in her 200 recipes.
When I chose which recipe to share with you here ( I have made over 20 in her cookbook so far!), I chose one I could enjoy today: grain-free!!
With super simple ingredients, these Orange-Almond Cookies are a perfect marriage of tender crumb and bright citrus flavor. If I didn’t know any different, I’d say they were loaded with butter!! A great snack, or a healthier treat, you and your family will love these simple, tempting cookies!

Paleo & Egg Free Orange Cookie Recipe:
Grain Free Orange Almond Cookies w/ The Healthy Gluten Free Life Giveaway
- 1 cup almond flour I used Honeyville
- 1/4 cup unsweetened grated coconut the dried variety
- Zest of one orange
- 1/4 cup coconut nectar Honey, or Surkin for low-carb
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil melted
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Whisk the flour, coconut, and zest together.
Make in a well in the center of the dry and pour in all the remaining ingredients. Stir to combine.
Roll roughly 8-9 balls of dough in your hands and press gently down on a greased cookie sheet. These do not spread or lift, so what you see is what you get!
Bake for 10 minutes, or until bottoms are just turning golden. Do not overbake or you will dry them out!

These cookies are yum! Great flavor and simple at best. I also incorporated some orange juice with a little pulp from the orange 🍊. The only negative was it’s very sweet. Next time I’ll double the recipe and adjust the sweetness. Overall they were delicious 😋.
Glad you liked them Shawn…sweetness definitely a personal thing for sure!
The calories are from once single cookie ?
Thank you .
yes Natalia, based on 9 cookies total!

Ah, love how simple this is Tessa. We made something similar using almonds rather than almond flour! Might have to try this.
Tessa Simpson says
I love the simplicity of this one too Tom…and the bright citrus flavor too!

Thank you for sharing this great book! My husband was given an ultimatum with diabetes last month, change your diet/exercise or take insulin in the next year. Yikes! We have started a regular exercise routine and a more organic/gluten free take on our diet. However, I feel like I’m starting over in the kitchen! I have always preferred homemade to ready to eat, so cooking has never been a problem, but grandma’s famous chocolate chip cookies calling for 1/2 cup butter & 1/2 cup crisco are now right out. I feel like I have been floundering to find recipes that appeal to us and follow our new diet plan. I was so excited to find this book! I am planning on ordering from Amazon (I missed the contest). Thank you for all of your knowledge and sharing it!
Tessa Domestic Diva says
Of course Marcy…ask any questions…I have a lot of knowledge in this brain about health and allergy free cooking..so please, use me!
These are delicious! I omitted the coconut flakes (personal preference) and added a little more almond flour instead. I also added some salt. I would recommend adding vanilla to your recipe, as I did ☺️ Delicious tea cookie as well
Thanks Kylie, I haven’t had these in ages…I need too, so yummy!
Diana B. says
liked both on FB – love a copy of the book – 4 months into SCD.

These cookies look delectable. Orange just screams summer. Of course I’m too late to enter the contest but this recipe itself is like a prize.
PINNED! 🙂 I can’t wait to try this recipe.

Looks like a great book! I would love to add it to my collection 🙂
Done and Done. I would like a copy of the book to help bring more of my family along on my Primal/Paleo Journey. I went Primal in march on this year and lost 20# I feel great but now it is getting to seem like the same old so I need some new recipes!
I have “liked” both pages.
We have learned more about the GF/low carb/Paleo/ lifestyle because of our middle son. He started having behavior problems very early on, and we were lost as to what was going on with him. From doing our own research, and learning about what is put into the standard Americn diet, we have helped our zone out do much. But I know we can learn and do more. As a mother of 5, it is hard to come up with meal ideas that everyone will like. I really could use some help with new yummy recipes!
I’m still figuring out which foods trigger issues for me. I have autoimmune disease And finally figured out that food plays a huge role in how I feel. Ive wanted a coy of The Healthy Gluten Free Life since it was released. I just liked both pages n facebook.

I’ve recently been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s and am trying to find good simple recipes that are Gluten Free. I work 40 hours a week outside the home and have my own business that I work 15-20 hours per week so I don’t have much time to cook. I also live in a rural community with a grocery store 25 miles away. So basic ingredients, quick to fix recipes are desperately needed! From what I’ve seen, this cookbook looks GREAT!
I am following you and Tammy on Facebook. I would really enjoy using this cookbook. I’ve had a passion for baking since I was a child, and for the last year I’ve been having significant health issues that have caused me to go free of gluten, dairy, soy, eggs, peanuts, etc. It would mean a ton to have reliable recipes that are more than gluten-free.
Just this week a friend asked me for some gluten-free resources. I was excited to share your website. I would be thrilled to have a copy of the cookbook. Thanks for the opportunity and for being such a great resource. I’m going to try out these orange almond cookies today.

Glad I found your blog and Facebook page! I’ve done the requirements for the contest. I’d love to win the cookbook. I found out almost 4 years ago I couldn’t have wheat/gluten. I got myself in a rut and now I’m starting to experiment with different recipes and really enjoying cooking again. I also try to not eat eggs, dairy & meat because I feel much better when I do. Thanks for the opportunity to win!

I decided to go gluten free the beginning of may despite my GI doc thinking there is nothing wrong with me. I wish I would have done this 9 years ago! My symptoms are almost completely gone and I feel so much better! I would LOVE to have a gluten free cookbook as I do not have any yet. Definitely going to try making the cookies, they look delicious!
I follow both of you on Facebook. The book would be a great addition for me as I journey deeper into the gluten free/paleo/refined sugar free lifestyle.
I have liked and joined and would love the cookbook.

I found your site through Healthy Vegan Fridays. I always love finding new blogs so I’m glad you participated!
I have been vegan for awhile but have just recently gotten more into focusing on whole foods and also cutting way down on soy and gluten. I am just discovering all the different gluten-free flours and grains so when you mentioned that she has info on which GF flours to use for the proper texture etc. that definitely appeals to me!
Thanks for the giveaway!!

p.s. I liked both of you on FB!
I just became a fan of The Healthy GF Life which led me to your page and I am now a fan of yours, too! I’d love to win this cookbook!!! My youngest of 4 sons, Aaron, who is now 26, has autism and food allergies, both of which are severe. He no longer self abuses since I took gluten and dairy out of his diet. He’s been free of these food allergens since he was 15. Just in the past year or so I found out I have the same food allergies. No more indigestion or heartburn for me! I lost 20 pounds since then, too! But I’ve also lost nearly 20 pounds more when I started eating the Paleo way. I’m not perfect with it, but I’m on the journey and getting better and this cookbook would really help a lot! Also, Aaron needs to lose some weight and I would like to introduce more non grain recipes for him as well. Thank you!

I like you and Tammy on FB! I’d love to win this , because just yesterday my best friend found out that she has to be gluten-free. This is for her!
Good Day. I did both number one and two like you asked. It would be awesone to be the winner of Tammy’s book. My daughter allways complaind of tummy aches and for that reason we had to go on a glutenfree diet, but also exclude lots of other foods which she was tested allergic to. It would be nice to browse through a book to see what I can surprise my daughter with next. Blessings to you.

Like both on FB. My besyt friend are GF, my family is dairy and egg free. Always need new recipies to share!!
Good Morning! I just started following your blog and am thrilled. I’d love a copy of the cookbook. I love to cook and eat, but as a nursing mother of a child with soy and dairy allergies it has become difficult. After reading information online, I’d like eliminate gluten as well. I think it will be beneficial for both my oldest and youngest children in different ways. The idea of going GF honestly scares me, but hopefully a great cookbook can encourage me to take that step.
I have both of you on FB.
I would love to win the book because we are a GF house, for health and to see if it helps my son’s Autism. I have this book on my wishlist on Amazon.

My famiy and I are new to this whole, healthy/grain-free/gluten-free living. I have recently been going through some major health issues (MS symptoms) but without any conclusive diagnosis. After researching many of my symptoms I am CONVINCED that much of what I am experiencing is directly related to our diet. We are making the change needed to live a healthier lifestyle and would LOVE LOVE LOVE a recipe book that could help in that endeavor. With or without it, though, I am glad to be following your blog as my family learns what it looks like to eat REAL food. Thanks!!!
liked both on fb and i’m always trying to find more gluten free recipes
Debra Klan says
I am gluten sensitive, and sticking to this diet helps me tremendously. The recipes and the helpful hints on how to mix the flour, ect. would be great!! Making things taste really good helps you to stick to the diet much better!! Thank you for this, I love your website!!
I’ve never used orange zest and I’ve been itching to use it. Now I have an awesome reason! 🙂 Thanks for bringing it to Sugar Free Sunday this week! These look divine!! Yumm! 🙂
I found you on FB through GF healthy life’s page. I’m so happy to have found your blog! Nursing my second son who at one point was reacting to over 3 dozen different foods! Thankfully it’s gotten better now that he’s a little older but it’s still a big challenge to avoid dairy, soy- all soy, even soy oil so no eating out- corn, gluten, chicken, citrus, peanuts, shellfish, and limiting tree nuts. I would love to have a copy of this book and look forward to trying your recipes.
Christie B. says
I like both you and The Healthy GF Life on FB. I would love to win this book for a friend who is just starting to try being GF (she really needs it). I also wouldn’t mind looking at the recipes myself, to see if there are any that we could use. 🙂 We’ve been GF for many years, and grain-free most of that time. We are currently following the GAPS diet, which has been very helpful. My son has been able to add in dairy!!! And also eggs, strawberries and cherries (along with other foods, but these are the biggies).
Sarah Beaton says
I am following both of you on Facebook. I would love to win a copy of the book, the recipes look so yummy. Our family has been gf for years and we feel so much better though we are now searching for more whole food type recipes so we can eat even healthier!!

I just signed on to follow both Facebook pages and I am looking forward to reading all of the wonderful info there. I have food intolerances to multiple items including fish, corn, wheat, gluten, soy, dairy, peas, and almonds. It is a full time job to look for recipes so I end up eating the same thing most of the time. I would love new ideas and would be very excited to win a free copy of your new book. Best of luck with it – it looks wonderful. Thank you, Kelly
the cookies look so scrumptious! i already follow you!
Liked both of you on Facebook. Already subscribed to you blog 🙂 Would love to win this. Been gluten free because of my son’s allergies for three years. Trying to move the whole family to a whole food, unprocessed diet.. This would be great 🙂

I am a FB follower and now I also follow Tammy!
At the beginning of the school year last year, my 6yo son started reacting to gluten (tummy ache and vomiting) so we had some allergy testing done and he has delayed reactions to several other things, too, including egg, soy, and rice. Giving up things in my diet for my allergy and autoimmune disorder is one thing, but it’s much tougher on kids. I would love a copy of Tammy’s cookbook!
Hello, I just wanted to say thank you for sharing all of your cooking know how. I have been able to share your site with a friend struggling with a daughter allergic to everything. Also, other friends I have are allergic to gluten, so hopefully they have taken advantage of your recipes I have shared on Facebook. Thank you!!
Sophie W. says
I follow you and The Healthy GF Life on fb. My husband is on an allergy free diet, and I would like to have more recipes I could cook for him at my fingertips.
Follow both pages and would like to win the cookbook because:
1. I do not know how to cook so gf is especially daunting
2. Most gf products at the store are too expensive and/or don’t taste good so I can’t bring myself to eat them.
3. It would be neat to win something.
🙂 Thank you for being there for us.
I “like” both pages on FB….actually I love them! It would be great to win a copy of this cookbook. It would be my first GF cookbook as this is a new way of life for me! It has been a great experience so far and there is so much more to learn!
Yes! Yes! I want to win a copy of ‘The Healthy Gluten-Free Life’!
I need cooking lessons in order to make healthy meals. This book sounds like it will provide just those lessons.
I’m so glad I found your site! I liked both yours and Tammy’s facebook page to enter the giveaway. I discovered I was sensitive to dairy, wheat, eggs and sugar while nursing my son, who reacted to those items in my diet. It’s been a challenging journey, but I know it’s worth it for him and it’s making me choose healthier food choices!

I’ve been following you for awhile and am now following Tammy on Facebook. I’ve been gluten free for almost 5 years, and have recently transitoned my husband to GF. Having some new recipes to try out for his sweet tooth would be great! I already have to deal with the hazards of high altitude baking, so having the help with GF would take a load off my back.

Having something like this cookbook to help me, esp so early in my journey, would be incredible. Many thanks! Kelly

I have recently “self-diagnosed” myself with gluten intolerance (and verified by my doctor). Gluten is definitely a trigger to my migraines. I’d love to have the cookbook as I love to bake, and I heard she had wonderful tips about flours in it. Thanks!

I am following both you and tammy on facebook 😉 I saw this book in a bookstore and would have loved to purchase it – but haven’t taken the financial plunge yet – I’m feeding a family of 7 in which 6 of us have been tested and share a variety of food allergies/sensitivities. This book looked awesome and I’d be extremely excited to have it on my shelf of food resources. I have yet to get rid of my old books that still have all those ingredients we can’t eat! Thanks for sharing

I have liked both pages. Our house eats gluten free and we do pretty good at healthy too. I have gotten most of my recipes online and would love an awesome cookbook that I know is good. There are so many choices and I hate to spend the money not knowing if the recipes are edible.

I have “Liked” and now follow both you and Tammy & The Healthy Gluten-Free Life on facebook. My husband and I have been diagnosed with various health problems including high cholesterol, acid reflux, whole body inflammation, and diverticulitis. Since the diagnosis of our health issues about six months ago, we have been actively engaged in researching gluten free and raw/whole food diet changes. Trying to prepare meals for ourselves and 6 children has been very challenging. I spend countless hours online searching for delicious recipes that are easy to prepare and that will satisfy our body’s needs and our children’s appeptites. I would love to win a copy of Tammy’s Healthy and Gluten-Free Life cookbook. It certainly would assist this frustrated mom immensely! I can be contacted at email@example.com! Thank you for this opportunity!

Having this cookbook would be lifesaver! I just recently found out that gluten was causing my HORRIBLE DAILY migraines, and being able to find ways to cook healthy without gluten would be awesome. There are so many great foods out there I’m not even aware of yet and would like the chance to find out what they are.

I would love to be entered in the drawing for a free cookbook from Tammy Credicott. I have a teenage son whom is gluten, dairy, egg and soy free. He has struggled with food allergies and Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome (CVS). We would benefit from the cookbook. The recipes look easy enough for him to start making his own food and maybe someday move out of the house and cook on his own. Thanks for considering me for the drawing.

i have been following u on fb and pinterst dor some time. now following tammy and the gluten free healthy life on fb. i have been interested in going more grain free! hve been gluten free for 4 years .
I’ve done both things. The recipes look fantastic and considering I love collecting new recipes to try for my family who doesn’t have to be gluten free but does for my sake, this looks like it could fit the bill!
This gluten free program is new to me, but I love baking and learning. My granddaughter almost lost part of her intestines before it was discovered she was Celiac, and further testing showed a near fatal allergy to dairy. It is hard learning all the ins and outs of GF baking, and I struggle with it. Would love to have the book.
